Mother Sponsorship

 

We are personally involved and invested in the life of each mother that is sponsored. We partner with an amazing group of Ethiopian women who are comprised of social workers, counselors and women of passion. We also have full time staff that help facilitate our programs. Our goal is to provide sustainability not only for the mothers, but their families and the community as a whole. Through sponsorship the mothers and their families will be provided with medical care, continuing education (if they choose), counseling, money management, job training and small business opportunities. Most of our mommas are single parents due to death of spouse or abandonment. We work with the government of Dessie to identify destitute women that demonstrate the desire to change the cycle of poverty.

 

 

The commitment is $55 a month for 3 years. If we fail after 3 years to help a momma achieve self sustainability then we are doing something wrong. We do understand the emotional bond that is created after 3 years and encourage you to stay a part of the mother's life you invested in. We also need you to commit to writing a letter to the mother 2 times a year. You will also have the opportunity to skype with her at least once a year. The women would LOVE to know about you. Send pictures. Tell stories. We need you to believe that you will gain more than you are giving. Don't just think of your momma as a $55 month charity or obligation.  She has a name. A face. She has just as much to offer you as you do her. Because Every Mother Matters offers trips 2x a year to Ethiopia and we would love for you to think about going at sometime in the 3 years to personally meet the mother and her family you sponsor (not required..just pretty cool). I promise you will be blessed and finally we do travel 4x a year there and would LOVE to bring your momma a care package from you. Pictures, clothes, soaps, lotions, extra $, anything is always appreciated (again not required, but pretty cool).

 

We love each woman that is in our program. We know them. We have been to their homes. We have played with their children. This is personal to us. It is our desire that through sponsorship YOU will be blessed beyond measure by opening your heart and supporting one of our mommas!

We are asked frequently, "How much actually goes to the mom?"  Every single dollar minus five. We give $5.00 per momma sponsored to the amazing group of Ethiopian women volunteers to help offset any office expenses, transportation, etc...
We understand that $55 a month for 3 years is a big commitment to sponsor a momma in our program and for many it's just not feasible budget wise. Well....we listened, we understood and * We are now able to offer partial or partner sponsorships!!!!!
Can't commit to $55 a month, but still want to sponsor mother?  Then consider the partial or partner sponsorship option for $30 a month. So, what's different?  You still get updates on your momma, you can write to her, etc..You ARE her sponser! The only difference is you partner with another person in providing her with the full benefits and opportunity of sponsorship. You can partner sponsor with a family member or friend. You would both sign up individually, but be matched with the same momma. What if you don't know anyone to partner with you. It's okay. We got you covered. You would just go to the donate tab scroll all the way down to Mother sponsorships, click on the subscribe button and choose partial. We will then do all the work and find a partner for you.

If you are ready to say, "Yes" and deliver hope to a mother by sponsoring her.

The next step is to set up your payments.There are two different options.

1. Online- Go to www.bemm.org . Go to donate tab. Scroll all the way towards the bottom. You will see mother sponsorships. Under that you will see a "subscribe" button. Click that and it will direct you to Paypal. I will look for your name to come through and assign the momma you chose or we will choose for you to your file. This is automatically debited from your account each month.

2. You can send a check made out to Because Every mother Matters and send it to Steffany Boster 3951 S. Forest Acres Columbia, Mo. 65203 every month.
